You have asked every question that we ask all the time. What do I think? Same as you…it’s all of our jobs, but like you asked, how do we convince all of this? How do we ensure it is part of how we do business, when we don’t have it in our mission? Can we pull it off without that level of direction?

This was a great post. In the last holidays our facilitator got to see him speak in NZ and loved the chance. I think the most interesting idea out of all of this is just how powerful visual images are to us. 1 image with no words etc can conjure up all sorts of things and keep us captivated on it. I really like your re-worked slide. I am interested to see how this all translates into the writing workshops you talked about. Amanda

I absolutely LOVE the video your group created for choosing just right books – I just sent it to Tara and she (of course) loves it too! My only feedback (as a non-classroom teacher) would be to have included a description of the “five finger rule” so anyone can understand that critical step.

So many important points here in your last paragraph:

“Projects have layers – it’s important to understand that – it’s important to realise that some things will be taught “just-in-time” with project-based learning, other things will be deliberated planned and taught. Being flexible is one of the reasons working with digital tools will succeed. Taking risks with your own learning and going through the process you expect your students to go through will also help your project to be a successful one.”

Thanks for always being a risk-taker and willing to try new things and share your results with everyone!

Love it! I haven’t tried PhotoPeach yet, but clearly I have got to get on it! I think it would be perfect for Carole’s project that she’s been using MovieMaker for. Can you also record your voice?

I’m excited about the possibility of going to virtual school so all of our teachers can get to know just how powerful screencasting can be! One question for you: in SmartRecorder, can you zoom in during a recording, or do you have to take separate shots with different screen areas selected to simulate zoom?

Your tutorial on Voicethread arrived just in time as I’m about to introduce this tool to some teachers. Bliptv seems to be a good solution for uploading video. I’m not sure my school is ready for utube at this point. Your blog is very informative and useful. Thanks for sharing.
